DATIM Skills for USG Users (Data Deduplication)

September 12, 2019

About the Document:

This presentation was created for Day Two of the West Africa PEPFAR Systems Training on “DATIM Skills for USG Users" that was delivered to PEPFAR Implementing Partners and USG staff in Ghana and Togo on August 30 – September 3, 2019.

The presentation uses screenshots of the "West Africa Training Server," an instance of DATIM that was created specifically for this training. The training server has since been deprecated, and users no longer have access to this server.

The funding mechanisms, agencies, partners, and values used in these exercises are entirely fictional.

Presentation Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand what deduplication (dedupe) is and why it is necessary.
  2. Use different resolution techniques to resolve deduplication issues.
  3. Discern the links between DSD (Direct Service Delivery) and TA (Technical Assistance) funding mechanisms.
  4. Demonstrate how a dedupe record is created and resolve it.
