Harmonizing Indicators

The PEPFAR/MoH Data Alignment Activity will focus on the harmonization of five MER 2.0 indicators as provided below:

  1. HTS_TST: 
    • Number of individuals who received HIV Testing Services (HTS) and received their test results
      • Totals (Numerator)
      • Disaggregations: Age & Sex & Test Status
  2. PMTCT_ART: 
    • Number of HIV-positive pregnant women who received antiretroviral therapy (ART) to reduce the risk of mother-to-child- transmission during pregnancy
      • Totals (Numerator)
    • Number of pregnant women with known HIV status at antenatal care (includes those who already knew their HIV status prior to ANC)
      • Totals (Numerator)
      • Disaggregations: Known Positive, Newly Tested Positives, New Negatives
  4. TX_NEW:
    • Number of adults and children newly enrolled on antiretroviral therapy (ART)
      • Disaggregations: Age & Sex
  5. TX_CURR:
    • Number of adults and children currently receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART)
      • Disaggregations: Age & Sex



To facilitate meaningful cross-analysis of data, the indicators will:

  1. Capture annual results in alignment with PEPFAR’s calendar year 
  2. Capture facility level data for all facilities where the service is provided (including PEPFAR facilities)
  3. Use data that is considered official MoH data
